Boxing After Dark in Home Depot Center

October 13, 2012 Home Depot Center in Los Angeles California was crash by more than seven thousand boxing fans just to witness the memorable fights that were scheduled for four well known boxing fighters. Boxing fighters were Mike Alvarado which is undefeated and has a record of 33 – fights 0 – loss and 23 wins by way of knockout, against Brandon Rios which is also has a remarkable record of undefeated 30 – fights 0 – loss and 21 wins by means of knockout. The other two fighters were Nonito Donaire which has a record of 30 – fights 29 – wins 18 – KO’s and 1 defeat, against Japanese well known fighter Toshiaki Nishioka. Toshiaki is the challenger and he has a boxing record of 46 – fights 39 – wins 24 - wins by means of knockout 3 – draws and 4 losses, Nishioka waited a long time for this moment since he is very eager to fight the Filipino flash Donaire. This event was presented by Top Rank promotion and it was shown live in HBO. This is the best fight in boxing history and it was titled HBO Boxing After Dark. Let see the result of these fights.

Mike Alvarado vs. Brandon Rios Fight Result

Alvarado and Rios fights for the Junior Welterweight Title, where in Brandon Rios is the challenger. Both fighters has a tremendous record and each of them really need to defend that record they are both eager to end this fight by a knock-out. Both fighters showed aggressiveness in the first round; however, Brandon Rios landed more solid punches to Alvarado. But in the last few seconds of round one Mike Alvarado fights back and he managed to land also solid punches to Brandon Rios.

In the next couple of rounds both fighters showed braveness, aggressiveness and stamina they don’t gave each other a chance to fight in a far distance they both engaged in a short distance fight and throwing a lot of punches to each other, the fight is very close both of them are very offensive, both of them received solid punches but it seems that they don’t feel anything. There are instances that both fighters slowed down and observing each other on how they will make a right move on how to bring down his opponent. But so far during that moment, what they need is to defend their selves and counter attack from the punches that is being thrown by his opponent.

Most of the rounds were really dominated by Mike Alvarado he had thrown a lot of punches to Brandon Rios and it really struck Rios to that solid punches. But Rios did not mind that, he keeps coming back and throwing a lot of punches also to Mike Alvarado and he hit Mike also with solid punches, both of their faces are swelling. In the 7th round, Alvarado still managed to dominate this round however, Brandon Rios saw a chance and he hit Alvarado with a solid punch which make Alvarado to wobble and on that moment Rios did not make Alvarado to have a chance anymore to fight back he keeps throwing punches to Mike Alvarado until the referee saw that Alvarado can’t manage to fight anymore and he stops the fight, and the fight resulted to a TKO.

Nonito Donaire vs. Nishioka Toshiaki Fight Result


This is the moment that Nishioka Toshiaki is waiting for; he did not accept any fights for one year just to prepare his self for this fight. According to him, that he is eager to fight Nonito Donaire. Toshiaki is a very respected and well known boxing fighter in Japan he also mentioned that he wants Japanese boxer to be known internationally and he thinks that defeating Donaire is the way in fulfilling that ambition. Nishioka Toshiaki is the challenger while Nonito Donaire is the title holder and they are battled for the World Junior Feather Weight belt.

At the first round, both fighters are analyzing each others move Nishioka showed defensives while Nonito Donaire started throwing a lot of solid punches on him. Donaire showed aggressiveness in the first round he landed a lot of solid punches to Nishioka but the Japanese fighter haven’t thrown any punches at all, which makes the boxing fans disappointed.

In the next couple of rounds the fights did not change at all the Japanese fighter Toshiaki did not respond to the punches thrown by Donaire he keeps defending his self he is afraid of throwing a punch to Donaire he just keep on faking but did not throw any punches, there are instances that he will throw a punch but did not make any follow-up. There are couples of times that Nishioka unintentionally hit Donaire by illegal low blow but did not hurt Nonito badly.

At round six, Nonito Danaire managed to land a solid left uppercut to Nishioka Toshiaki that makes the Japanese fighter go down. The referee makes a mandatory eight counts but the Japanese fighter managed to get up and fight back until the end of round six. At round seven and eight the fight becomes excitement Toshiaki is showing aggressiveness and he landed a couple of solid punches to Nonito Donaire. However, at round nine Nishioka received a solid straight right on the lower jaw that makes him go down for the second time, he managed to get up and fight back but the referee stops the fight since he saw that the Japanese fighter can’t fight any longer. And the fight resulted to TKO in favor to the Filipino fighter Nonito “flash” Donaire.
